Lewis

I may...

Possibly...

Kind of...

A little bit...

Be growing fond of this dog...

Maybe.

Family Date Night

After a nice morning at home on Saturday, Daniel, Dexter and I went up to Edmonton. Daniel spent a lot of time at a gun store before I drug him off to the Home and Garden Show! I was pretty excited to go as I had never been to one before. It ended up being not quite what I expected, although I had a hunch it would be like that.

A lot more home, not so much garden. And of course, garden was my main interest in going.

Once I finally figured out where the garden stage was though, I was much more satisfied! I got to listen to a presenter from Salisbury on edible container gardening.

After the show we picked up Layla and headed to Montana's for dinner. It was so nice to go out as a family! It's been quite a while since we've been able to do that. Other than waiting almost an HOUR for our food, it was fun.

Saturday Morning

Here's a little peek at our Saturday so far.

Once Daniel is done at the Primary Activity, I'm dragging him to the Home and Garden Show!!! Woo!!! So excited!

However, I think he also had plans to 'swing by' a gun store or two...

Ah, the give and take of marriage!

What a Wednesday...

Today started out as most others.

Tired. But healthy and happy.

But do you know what's awesome about elementary schools? Head lice. It's totally awesome. Children learning to share, right?

Well, I noticed that little surprise pretty quick this morning while trying to give Layla some cute pigtails. Luckily, there was nothing alive. Strangely, there were only some grown out nits.

Either way though, we were attacking this problem head on! We treated her and me and I looked at EVERY single hair on her head. Now she is sleeping on the couch for the next couple nights. I will not tolerate their survival.

Even though through everything, we still haven't seen or had any evidence of a single actual louse, we are being as absolutely extra cautious as possible.

Needless to say, this mission took all day long. Layla was such a trooper sitting for hours and hours as I pulled and tugged at her hair all day. Never complained once, which is huge for the girl who can't handle her hair being brushed. She was happy enough to enough a lot of reading and iPhone time today.

Below is a picture from Lewis being curled up on the couch this afternoon and a picture from one of Layla's app games. Other than me slowly going through her hair, that about sums up our day in a nutshell.

Dexter

Here's a couple little moments with my Big Man this afternoon.

I just love this guy to bits! I'm so thankful he is happy and healthy. What more could you really ask for in a little one?

Daffodils

I was getting in the Spring frame of mind today. Just thinking, wishing and hoping for it to come!

I know it will, but for gardening addicts like me, this is a difficult and frustrating time of year.

I've had a couple little projects in mind for some of my left over daffodil bulbs that I haven't gotten around to yet.

So this afternoon I grabbed some that had started to sprout a bit and put them in an empty pot with some fresh soil, watered them and hoped for the best!

It will be nice if I could have some little indoor blooms for Easter!

Blurry Boy

Blurry Boy likes tomato soup!

D-lish!

Sunday Afternoon

We had a busy day yesterday, combined with Daylight Savings this morning, made for a tired crew today.

We enjoyed Church, then naps, moved on to some outdoor time and ended with a fantastic meal. Quite a lovely Sunday!

Here's some pictures from our walk:

Epic Walk

It was a beautiful unseasonably warm March day today. Lots of beautiful blinding white snow. Gorgeously bright sunshine.

As Dexter, Lewis and I started out on our walk, we didn't have the intention of anything extraordinary but we took advantage of the lovely day and walked...

For TWO hours!

It was great!

Apples & Apricots

Yesterday I 'officially' added some new food to Dexter's diet!

I say 'officially' because we like to let him have little tastes of this and that from our meals. Mostly just to see his reaction! So far he loves food. Anything goes with that kid! For another year or so anyway!

At Appreciation Day at Safeway this week, I snagged some reduced to clear organic baby food (far from the expiration, I checked!). We have a Baby Bullet as a gift from Daniel's mom from last summer, but I thought I'd grab some of the jars for times of convenience.

It didn't take long! After his rice cereal, Dexter still seemed hungry. So I picked some new flavors for him to try!

Guess what: He loved them!

Well, after a moment of 'whoa! What is this?'.

The View Out My Window Today

It's a blustery winter day, but I think it is just beautiful. I am enjoying being cozy in my little house.

(also, it's garbage day!)

Dreaming

I'm getting excited to start planning for springtime!

Warm sunshine!

Breezes rustling the leaves!

Hanging clothes to dry!

Sitting in my lounger!

Checking on my plants!

Reading in the swing!

Everyday brings us a little closer!

My Men

Daniel has the day off today and as he's been under the weather lately, he was happy to be able to sleep in this morning and get the rest he needs.

I was up and at 'em pretty early this morning. It was so sweet when I popped back in the room to check on Dexter and saw him and his dad snoozing together on the big bed!
