Out My Window

It has been cloudy and rainy for a few days now (I love it!) and it has been making everything so green and fresh!

The sun peeked out for a few brief moments this morning and it was so beautiful!

So I snapped a couple pictures of my soon-t0-bloom rose buds from my front window!

There actually looks like there are quite a few buds this year! This poor rose bush looked almost dead when I first bought the house. But now every year it gets a little better and a little better!

I haven't been able to check too much on my backyard since it's so soggy. Once my rainbarrels were filled to the brim (fabulous!) I haven't been out there much. Daniel was a sweetie last night though and drilled some holes in a cheap pot that I put one of my tomato plants in. It didn't have proper drainage holes and the poor little guy was getting flooded! So it has been draining overnight and I plan on checking on it this afternoon to see how it's doing. I hope it's not too damaged. So far, I've only spied on it from the back window!

This weather should be great for my later plantings of some cooler weather vegetables like spinach, lettuce, beets, peas and carrots. This weather is so much better for them than a heat wave!
